Editorial standards
How we report, and what we won't do.
Facts first
We report from the artist's own post or a confirmed source. We don't invent streams, numbers, dates, labels, features or quotes. Anything we can't confirm stays out of the story until it's checked, and our publishing system blocks a story that still has unconfirmed facts.
The music and the scene
We'll take a side on the music. We don't cover personal lives, relationships, rumors, beef, or legal and police matters, and we don't insult or mock anyone or attack any group. Sensitive news is reported straight, and only after a second check.
Real people, real photos
Artists appear only through their real photos or cover art, credited. We never use AI-generated faces or bodies of real people. AI art is used for backgrounds and design only.
Credit
We credit and tag every artist and creator whose work we use. We use stills or short clips, never full music video reposts.
Promo is labeled
Paid promo is marked "Promo partner" under the headline. Paying doesn't buy a story, and not paying doesn't block one.
Playlists are free
Playlist submissions are always free for WNY artists. Buying promo doesn't get you on, and not buying doesn't keep you off.
Ruff Buff family
Ruff Buff TV is part of the Ruff Buff family. Stories about Ruff Buff family members end with that line so readers know the connection.
Corrections
If we got something wrong, tell us through Submit news and choose "Correction to a story." We fix confirmed errors and note the update on the story.
Language
Ruff Buff TV publishes in English: headlines, stories, captions and covers. Brand and playlist names keep their own spelling, so a Spanish name like Sonido Latino stays as it is.
